Research Interests & Areas

Kalmes’s academic interests broadly encompass critical education theory; educational policy analysis; and critically democratic research, policies, and practices in education. More specifically, her research focuses on educational equity, curriculum, theory, cultural studies, the politics of knowledge, and grassroots educational organizing.
